Season 2, Post #1: Off to a Hot Start

I can't believe we're back!

Just wanted to say how thankful I am for everyone that is still here, all these years later!  I'm excited to share some really great music with you all, and I would love to feature your music as well!  Submit songs through this google form and I would love to share your favorite songs as well!

I was inspired by a game I've been playing with some friends called Music League.  Everyone submits a song for a category, everyone votes, and results are shown after all votes are in!  (IF anyone is interested in this, please let me know!) I posted this song for our last category, Songs You Love To Play Loudly, as it truly is one of my favorites.  A magical mix of funk and rap that is too hot to handle!  (This was my 6th most listened to song last year)

Keeping with the theme, song #2 is an absolute banger from JOYRYDE.  The mixture of steel drums and the vocal samples kept me coming back for more (This was my 23rd most listened song of last year).  Great big bass and just beautiful glitchy basslines!

Enjoy and welcome back!

0644 - Let's Get it On

Today's banger comes from Ghastly called Get On This, and this one is intense.  A solid build followed by a glitchy and intense drop.  I honestly wasn't too sure about this one in the first minute or so but after a while I grew to really love it.  The progression adds a lot as the main chorus goes on and I hope you get as hype to it as I did!

0187 - The booty gets touched twice

A wonder wednesday to all of you.  Hump day and the week is almost over, I know some of you are having rough weeks so take a deep breath and let the music take you on an escape from your stressful lives.  Two tracks for you today.  The first comes from Markus Schulz off of his new album Scream 2.  To be honest the entire album didn't move me very much but this was the one exception off of that album.  Great vocals with a good message, great bass, and a very tonal drop that surprised me a whole lot.  Overall a really great track, check it out!

Second up today is a big heavy electro track from Noisestorm.  I can see this track getting massive amounts of club play/remix potential/mix potential.  With a very heavy bassline and melodic interludes taking you in and out, it has great potential.  At first listen i was a bit bored, but after listening to it again I saw that it really is a great track.  Listen to it and tell me what you think!

0183 - Feel The Rush

Today I have an awesome track for you, another great one from nanobii (same guy who did Rainbow Road).  This one is just as good, I wouldn't say its better then Rainbow Road, but don't let that deter you from listening because its the same kinda style, in your face and heavy but extremely melodic and beautiful.  Check it out and let me know what you think!  Nanobii is for sure one of my favorite new artists that I have discovered this year and I am looking forward to more music!

0139 - Finally Funky

The weekend is almost here, and good lord do we all need it.  This week has been cold, long, and just plain ridiculous in terms of everything and anything.  Thankfully, as I have always believed, music can heal and turn a mood around in just a few minutes.  Thats what Funk does for me on Fridays, makes me relax and forget all the horrible shit that happened during the week, I hope it works for you as well!

The first track I have for you today is a live remix of an already awesome song.  Not Coming Down by Candyland is a cool song by itself, but then Boney gets his hands on it and throws down a live remix with saxophone that is just about as smooth and sexy as is humanly possible.  The video documents all the instruments that he plays and let me tell you, this kid is really talented.  Its incredible how young the stars of this genre are these days.  Enjoy the Boney Remix of Not Coming Down by Candyland!

I also have a big new track from MAKJ.  I had never heard of MAKJ before finding this track, but if the rest of his stuff is anything like it then I will for sure have more of it for you.  This one is called Mad Max, and it seems a bit themed around the classic movie with a mix of incredible tonality, drops, and a few race-car sounds thrown in there as well.  Enjoy the track and pick it up for free by following the soundcloud link.  Have a great weekend everyone!

0117 - ThE bIgGeSt BaNg

Today I bring you a track that I found through one of my new channels that I follow on Youtube called Big Bang Playlist.  I will be honest, its pretty hit and miss as they release so much music it seems that they are going for quantity over quality, but every few songs is one that is really damn good.  This track from Landis & Crespo has a huge bass that hits you hard, awesome synth work, a sequence of tonal progression that seems complex but can get stuck in your head pretty damn easy, and some awesome drop out build ups.  Can for sure see this one being dropped at a rave or concert and doing pretty well, I think mixed with the right sequence this one could have people going absolutely insane.  Check it out and I will see you all tomorrow for a double dose of Banger Wednesday with some of my favorite vocal work to date!
