0321 - Countdown to Something Different

So I want to try something new today.  The reason I love this blog is because you all get involved and share your favorite music the same way I share mine.  So I am introducing top lists that I want everyone to help expand and update.  Each month on the first day of the month I will release one or two documents containing my own personal top 5 list for a certain genre.  In addition to my list, I ask that you write your own as well!  Add your favorite songs from that genre, or even just songs you are really enjoying.  Sometimes I find that even generic songs are great every once in a while.  My personal list will be posted here, as well as the master list which will be in the Facebook group.  If you aren't a member of it, please join!  This will start tomorrow and the first category is Relaxing/Chill music!

Onto the music for today.

3LAU is one of those artists where I seem to be drawn to his work.  Everything from Dance Floor Filth mashups to his current work, he continues to amaze me with his work.  This remix from Skrux really gives his work a whole new vision as it really is beautifully done.  Super relaxing, keeping the great vocals, and maintaining the originality, this remix is really spectacularly done.  Give it a listen and overall decide for yourself.

0320 - Start that Monday Mile

Today's track on this funky monday is a silky smooth remix from Urban Contact of Freedom Fry's track Wilder Mile.  The original has a feel like Of Monsters and Men, but this remix has such a unique and funky smooth feel to it that I can't resist sharing it with you all.  Its nice and driving while still maintaining the feel of the original.  For sure worth a listen!

0319 - Vibes From The Castle

Today we have two tracks full of funk and flavor.

The first one was given to me by my friend Molly, and just oozes funk.  This one is nice and driving, keeping the bass consistent throughout the entire track and then taking it up a notch with the great tonality and piano interludes.  You guys all know how much of a sucker I am for piano in electro tracks.  Give it a listen, and check out the rest from Bag Raiders.  PLUS HORNS. OH GOD THE HORNS.

Second up on super Funky Friday is a great smooth track from Armin Cekin.  Great funk combined with a little glitchy flavor that really makes a sweet combination.  Reminds me a bit of the song Skrillex did for Wreck It Ralph crossed with a sweet smooth funk track.  I like it, I love it, I want some more of it.   Have a great weekend everyone!

0318 - Prelude to the Weekend

The song I have for you today is a very driving track and I think its pretty unique in the fact that most tracks today focus on the vocals or bass to make or break a song, but this one is all about the tonality.  Michael Calfan's track Prelude does this beautifully.  It may not be the most thrilling song, or an anthem, but it is a beautifully done track that I really enjoyed.  I hope that you enjoy it just as much as I did!

0317 - Anchor Yourself To The Beats

Banger Wednesday is here and ready to get you moving on this Hump Day!

First up today is a really beautiful anthem, with an extremely positive message about how people can open your eyes.  Andrew Rayel just released a slew of tracks and in my opinion this is the best one.  One In A Million features killer vocals from Jonathan Mendelsohn mixed in pretty flawlessly with smooth progression and a very nice melodic drop.  This is one of my most played songs right now!

Second up is a huge new song from powerhouse Tritonal.  This one is called Anchor, and it honestly surprised me a little bit.  The way the vocals and tonality mix in the beginning is very generic and I was worried the entire song would be that way.  In a way it is, but Tritonal gives it their own flair and takes this one to the next level.  Great melody, great vocals, excellent musical diversity make this a track that I expect to see in club and festival sets soon!

0316 - Madeon's Glorious Return

Madeon is Back.  You likely know him from his mind blowing pop culture live mashup on a beatpad.  That video blew my mind open into the insane and crazy talented world or mixing songs live right there on the spot, and I fell in love with beatpad mixing right there.  His new song is out of the blue, since it has been nearly 6 months since we have heard anything from him.  This one is heavier than his usual, but still has that unique flair that he gives to tracks.  There is also a rumor this may be off an upcoming album!  Give it a listen and enjoy!

0315 - Swing Like You Mean It

Today I have a really incredible electro-swing track for you.  If you are big into the genre, then the name Jamie Berry should not be something brand new  If it is new to you and you like electro-swing, let me just blow your mind for a second.  Grandiose is a smooth track that has a perfect level of bouncy and funk, mixed in with some old sounding vocal samples.  The song is near flawless and the perfect mix of old and new left me hitting the replay button at least 3 times after the first time I heard it.  I hope it has the same impact for you!
