Season 2 will start slowly with 2 posts a week (4 songs total)! No tags for guaranteed kinds of music each day, but hopefully we'll get a nice variety!
First up is a drumstep remix from Spag Heddy of Helen Corry's track Time. I have really gotten a big taste for drumstep in the last few months, and this one I really enjoyed. The melody playing in the background is really catchy and the short cut vocals are really nice and sharp. The drop is nice although a bit generic, still all combine to make a really enjoyable song though!
Also coming straight to your ears today is a track from SirensCeol called Faith In You. A truly exemplary track, there isn't much about this one I don't like. Great progression, memorable tonality, vocal samples mixed in just a little bit, great chilled out transitions, and a drop that took me by surprise. Give it a listen and I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do!
Ever since I heard this first song I knew that it would be stuck in my head and would eventually end up on this blog. It got placed on a playlist and slipped my mind. I love going back and finding these tracks. and this one from Laszlo made me so happy to discover again. Its got great 8 bit style sounds and really great builds into very catchy drops that just put me in an extremely good mood. I hope it gets you in a happy mindset like it did for me!
Second track to help you get through this Wednesday is from SirensCeol called Endlessly.
Today I have a beautiful remix from Centron of Rob Gasser's NuDisco track, Speed Limit. Beautifully done with elements that will make you crave more. The breakdowns in this song blew me away, the chorus had me dancing in my desk chair, and the builds into the drops had me head bobbing the entire time. This is funky heaven.
Last up is a speedy electro-swing song from SirensCeol. This one is electro-swing but takes elements from so many other electro sub-genres to make a truly unique song that I can honestly say I have never heard anything like it. Its really hard to put into words, you should just take a listen for yourself!
So last night I got to see Dannic, Dyro, and Harwell and it was the best show I have been to in my entire life. As I type this Monday morning I have 1 hour of sleep, aching feet/legs/back, and a ringing in my ears that wont seem to go away. The damage and likely 10lbs lost to sweat was worth it though as it was easily the best 6 hours I have experienced in a long time. If you don't know much about any or even just one of them, take the time to check them out because it really is worth your time. I hope you all had a great weekend, but I am in recovery mode so that is the type of music on the docket today.
The first is from Vancouver Sleep Clinic, a newcomer on the scene who just released their first EP. Every song off of the EP is chill, melodic, and just beautiful, and I think this one is my favorite. It takes away to an entirely different place, one that has a feeling of safety, security, and love. Check it out and help get over the Monday blues.
Also for you today, one of the best chill dubstep songs that I have heard in a very long time. Melodic and great vocals mixed with a nice bass that isn't overwhelming and goes very well with the chill composure of the song. SirensCeol, Reaktion, and The Eden Project come together to create something truly awe inspiring. Let me know what you think!
