Always love seeing new tracks from Elephante, they always put me in a good mood. This track featuring vocals from Bishop is stellar, a driving melodic house track that I really fell in love with. It has catchy melodies mixed with the vocal track that combines with it perfectly!
I love great instrumentation in tracks, as many of you know, and Jazzy songs always seem to have the best use of piano and horns. Jazz Candy VIP by Nate Harrell is no exception. This track perfectly blends the magic of electro funk with the great instrumentation and groove that is usually found in Jazz. It has such a great flow and the dance potential is through the roof!
First up for you free folks is a track from Shanahan called Never Afraid. With autotuned sounding vocal samples this one really got me in a good mood. The great Piano sequences really took me to a great place, and mixed with the feel good progressive drop you really can't go wrong with this track. Give it a listen and pick up the download!
Second up is a much more mellow chill funk track from AWR and Sonny Alven. This track is beautiful, also featuring a great piano sequence accompanying the vocals. It goes from chill and then gets really funky during the chorus. I hope you like a groove to it as much as I did!
Figured I would make a bonus post with some of my favorite mixes of 2015.
Nik Cooper is a channel that produces a lot of huge bangin tracks covering everything from Progressive House to Melbourne Bounce to Electro House has put out a stellar mix that encompasses all 3 genres. And the best part is, if you don't like one of the genres, he has put in links to allow you to jump past that genre. It's worth your time I promise!
Armada who I am honestly not a fan of all the time (other than their deep house which has been on point lately) have also put out a stellar year mix. Featuring their chill stuff all the way to the high intensity insanity, this one is not to be missed!
My favorite of the year for sure has to be the staff pick of 2015 version of the Monstercat Podcast. Staying to their amazing reputation, Monstercat really kills it with this megamix. With staff introductions throughout the podcast, it is cool to hear from all the people who provide some of the best music out there! Give it a listen and I hope that you will love it as much as I do!
Welcome back to Banger Wednesday, featuring a track I hope you have already heard and a new one! The track I hope you have already heard is a Pegboard Nerds track that I honestly thought I posted a long time ago! Its strange, it features a sick and bizarre banjo, and just gets stuck in my head for weeks in my head. Swamp thing is a little outside their usual style, but then again so was Pink Cloud and that was magical!
Second up is a remix from Shanahan of Jus Jack and Speed Limit's track All Falls Down. The builds are really quality, with a lot of different instruments, a great vocal track, and a drop that surprised me a little bit. It may seem a bit generic, but I really loved this one. Welcome to the only question Tom Haverford has about music and if it is good, "Is it a banger?" The first track up today is from Borgeous and Mike Hawkins called Lovestruck. This one has been sitting on my list for some time, and I have debating where to put it, but I believe it falls in the banger slot. Its a great track and I would love to hear a higher quality version because the song really is pretty huge, and I hope you enjoy it!
Also up today we have a track from Vicetone called Angels. This one really surprised me and I absolutely loved the track. The vocals are stellar and really compliment the music. The horns and instrumentation are really well done, and the groove has both a dance and kinda funky groove to it. Enjoy!
Banger Wednesday here again, and first up is a really groovy and danceable Lost Kings remix of Krewella's track Somewhere to Run. Its got a great grove, actual instruments that sound amazing mixed in under the vocals from the ladies of Krewella. I can for sure see this one being mixed, being danced to like crazy and I hope to use it at my next party! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Second song for you today is from Live City called Cover Me. Now this song is nothing "HOLYSHIT that song is so mothafuckin good", but it is a really well put together song with a very catchy melodic drop and I enjoyed it. I hope that you do as well!
So I have found a really wonderful progressive house channel that I have fallen in love with. It doesn't produce bangers, it very rarely has vocals, but the tracks they share are always just really beautiful and well done. Also, a good amount of the time they are free! You can find the youtube channel right here! I have two examples, first is a remix from Ryo Nakamura of Sunny Terrace's track called Rise on Mountain. A beautiful and really well done track that just feels really mellow. Second up is a remix from Keith Harris of Johan Vilborg's One Moment. Really relaxing and beautifully produced. Sorry for the delay with Friday's post, I thought I would have time to complete it but driving wiped me out. So today I bring you a special Mashup Monday Free Day feat. The White Panda.
They are releasing tracks like wildfire, which really makes me hope that a new album is close to being released. One of my favorites was a mashup of Chromeo and Alesso called Cool Jealousy. First up today is This Love from Joe Garston. His track Quickscope was my go to track for some time, so I was excited to see something new. Not as intense as some of his other work, this one takes on more of a happy house feel. Using catchy tonality, and switching it up nicely halfway through, this one is not to be missed. If the Smoke Clears by Ooah and M!nt is a really interesting track. It gives off that really late night, dancable, break beat feel. I would have loved to see this track being worked on in production, because you can tell they had fun with it. First of all, I usually don't get excited about teasers, but the new one from W&W has me a little jacked. Armada released the trailer for The One this morning, and even though its only a minute, it has me excited for the full release. Check it out below!
Today's full track comes from Pierce Fulton and is titled In Reality. This one really hit me in a good place, its just really well put together. Great tonality and amazing progression in my opinion. The vocals are faded out a bit as not to overwhelm the melody. This song just made me really happy, and best of all you can pick it up for free!

Sorry guys, lots of meetings back to back today so I'm writing this very rushed between working through lunch and going into my next meeting. Short and sweet today. OYNG! released a new track called No Matter What that I stumbled on through one of my many youtube channels I follow for daily music. Its tonal with a lot of different instrumentation, kinda reminds me of Ronald Jenkees if he went more house. Great tonality, a nice drop, and very happy house vibes. A progressive house song for you today from Digitalism, remixed by Capa. This one has a funky smooth feeling to it, reminiscent of Elephante. Featuring great and very fitting vocals, this one has the great highs and lows that a good progressive track craves. Though not as big as some of the bangers I usually play on this day, this one struck me in a different way. Made me feel like I belonged in a strange way. Give it a listen and see for yourself!
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and weekend! So this weekend marked the last home game for Ohio State, and as many of you know they employ me to DJ their dance parties. Most of the music is not songs I am in love with but it has changed how I view this music. It doesn't matter that I hate it, what matters is that someone loves it. Music is all about power, emotion, and standing up on that stage and seeing how people react to big room or top 40 had me in smiles. It has made me so happy and I am blessed to have had the opportunity.
Lets kick the day off with a just overall good feeling electro track. Pheeno gives us Open Up, a track that on first listen seems to be all over the place, but after another it all meshes together. It has very smooth melodic sequences with very glitchy sounds mixed in. Very happy, very unique, and a phenomenal way to kick off the sad return of Monday.
Numero Dos is a strange Trance/Prog House hybrid track. From MOGUAI, this one features many aspects of both genres, including classic trance tonality and the progressive house build up structure. Its a very cool track, one that usually sways entirely toward one genre or another and this one seems to take the best of both to combine them into a really sweet track. A great way to get this long week underway!
Two big tracks for you today on this day before Friday.
Been doing more delving into non-vocal stuff and I think I have found two really great things for you. The first is a Trance song from Lush & Simon and Uforik called Hydrogen. Usually trance strikes me as generic and all the same but this one spoke to me very clearly. It has great tonality and an overall exceptional flow. Bass in all the right places mixed in made this a very surprising track!
Up second on the docket of today's musical agenda is a great progressive house track from Pessto and Drik B. I had honestly never heard of them until this track, but this will for sure keep them on my radar. A great tonal track with a driving theme to it, Reverie has a sense of urgency that gives it a really great energy!
The first is the new one from Cash Cash called Surrender. Known for their vocals, Cash Cash's track has stellar vocal work mixed in really well with a great progression. A great drop combined with kinda glitchy sounds all adds up into a really phenomenal track!
Second up and my favorite track of the day, is a sweet song from Disco Fries and Gazzo. Great job isolating the vocals to make them stick out, mixed with a really just powerful feel that courses through your veins and makes you feel strong. The tonality of this song is impressive and honestly surprised me, but thats just my opinion. Give it a listen and decide for yourself!
Sorry this one is late, I am sick as a dog and its about as fun as a giraffe having neck surgery. So live from my bed, here is a great track for you. Rezonate has come out basically saying that he hates where house music is going, its the same thing over and over again. Ever since then he has gone his own way and started experimenting with different styles and genres. His return to House is glorious, it seems that he has learned a lot from his exploratory journey. Shake It Off has great vocals, great tonality throughout the entire song, and drops that aren't necessarily huge but then again they really don't have to be.
I haven't done a Funky and Free Friday in some time, so it is time to bring it back to what this day was all about! First up is a really cool funk track from Mat Zo & The Knocks. Yes you heard me right. Combined they produce something seriously mind blowing. This funky piece of heaven is called Get Down 2 Get Up. Combined with uplifting funk, deep voice vocals, and an awesome driving bass line, this is a beautiful piece of eargasm. DONT MISS IT and pick up the free download.
Time for something else free! This track from Culture Code called Space & Time is actually a really great track in my opinion. Great tonality bringing in something high pitched and catchy enough to remember, combined with a nice driving bass that really makes it feel like an anthem of sorts. Two Bonuses before we get to the post for today, and then two HUGE songs that you need in your life, including my vote for remix of the year so far.
First up is another Colossalcon set from a killer DJ, Kendo. An hour long, and it is one of many hour mixes that have been getting me through the work day. And its full of Monstercat Tracks!
So I know we all hate the song #Selfie by the Chainsmokers, but after laughing my ass off with a roommate last night over the "Fuck Her Right In the Pussy Guy" I found something hilarious. I'm not going to say anything more than give it a listen, even if you despise the song. (if you don't know the story he basically made it onto two news stations and said that phrase on live TV)

First up is a sick song from Paris Blohm one of the best artists that I have discovered this year. Ever since seeing him with Tritonal, I have been following him closely and he has not been disappointing at all. This new track featuring Taylr Renee is incredible. The vocals are flawlessly inserted into a great rhythm, fantastic builds, and drops that had me dancing in my car. Its not one to be missed!
Second up is up for remix of the year in my book. Tut Tut Child got ahold of Porter Robinson's Sad Machine. Its flawless. A perfect remix keeping the chill aspects that Porter wanted while taking it up a notch. Seriously. Its the remix not to miss.

Since Today is usually all about bangers, I tried to bring some in from the chill world.
The first is from Armas. Easily my favorite genres are Prog House, Funk, and NuDisco. This, I can honestly say, is the most chill and well done Prog House song that I have heard in a long time, if not the best I have ever heard. Taking standard elements and slowing them down into something rarely done, Armas really takes this one away and I can easily say this is one of my top songs I have found this year. The second song for today is a chill remix of a popular song that really changed the way I look at the song. The introduction of chill elements such as a slow but driving bass mixed with a level of switched tonality really evolve this remix. Rainer and Grimm take this remix of Sam Smith's Stay With Me to a whole new level, one that I am glad I can be a part of. You can too, just hit play!
This week is seemingly going very quickly, I don't know why but I am totally ok with it.
The first banger that I am sharing with you today comes from Thomas Fronix and is called Flash, which is the perfect title because the song is so good it seems to be over too quickly. Great heavy bass coming in with some toned down tonality to fit the heavy sounding vibe. I can see this one making huge splashes in mixes and festivals. The other track i have for you today is one that I hope you have heard already. This is one of the new ones from 3LAU (pronounced BLAU), who for the record has been on a hot streak lately. Jesus he is so talented. AND HEY! If you can make it to columbus for his show tickets are only $15. This one is called How You Love Me and its very well done, with great vocals, and just an overall danceable and exciting feel.
