This is an electronic music blog dedicated to giving you the songs that you need to hear, both brand new and some old classics. One song (at least) is blogged every day Monday through Friday. There is a layout of songs posted throughout the week and it is as follows:
Monday and Friday - Funk
Tuesday and Thursday - Any Genre
Wednesday - Bangers
The first track on the docket for today is from the Sick Individuals, usually known for their remixes. This original is really one that has energy and I can see it very easily making it into huge festival mixes and club scenes everywhere! The vocals are beautiful and the drop is melodic and incredible. I just really hope the remixes that come of this don't resemble a lot of the other ones I have been listening to recently. Taking a song with a great melodic drop and reducing it to non-tonal big room garbage. Fingers Crossed!
Second up is a truly incredible chill tune from Chris Lago called Royals. This one has great male vocals mixed with the best chill elements available. Low driving bass that isn't in your face, great sequencing, and overall just one of my favorite chill tracks of the year so far. Give it a listen and find out for yourself!
The track I have for you today is from Friendzone featuring Tyler Fiore. This one starts off with great vocals and a really chill background and then drops into something that really surprised me. Great bass, great tonality, and a really cool sequence. Not to mention a very unexpected middle section with a near to complete drop out. This one is one of my favorites that I have found in a while and its free!
When Pierce Fulton gets his hands on something, it tends to turn out pretty amazing. This track is no exception from this statement, as he did a remix of Above & Beyond's track Stick Fingers and it is something not to miss. It does seem a little generic at parts, but after about 3 or 4 listens it really started to grow on me. The deep voice vocals and melodic drop really have me swooning. Give it a listen and tell me what you think!
First of all, Cabbage Brigade from the Facebook Group I applaud your efforts. I laughed for literally an hour.
Second of all, thank you everyone for being understanding with the week Hiatus, this vacation was a very needed one and it was great to get away for a little while.
BUT LETS GET BACK TO THIS MUSIC THING.
First up is the new song from Rogue. A glitch-hop track this one has a really funky bounce element that I am not sure if I am imagining or if it really is that good. With great vocal samples and a really cool and pretty unique tonal drop, this one is one of the best glitch-hop songs that I have listened to in a long time. Not to mention the drop outs that fade back in seamlessly with the help of some sick build-ups!
Second up is a sweet chillstep track from Urban Contact. This one is a perfect mix of dubstep and chill, taking a very nice and comfortable bass and mixing it with really nice calming segments with what sounds like piano and guitar. I really like this one a lot and I am sure that you will as well if you give it a try!
First on the agenda is a free song from James Egbert off his new album dropping in just a few days. It is called You and Me, and if you like it you can pick it up for free! The song features some very gritty and chilling vocals, along with a chill/funky vibe that carries it through the end. It is very much his style, and a great teaser for his new album!
The second track up for today is another Stay With Me remix, but this time from Throttle. Not only is the song really good by itself, but every remix I have heard so far is really solid. Funky elements along with the great vocals from the original. Give it a listen, and let me know if you like it!
First up is a really chill remix from Ark Patrol of Young the Giant's track Island. The first minute is a little slow but stick with it and you will enjoy it for sure. Great vocals with a Kygo-esk remix style behind it, this one feels really nice and is guaranteed to chill you out. The tonality and the piano style additions really bring this one to life!
Second on today's playlist is a really fun song from Martin Tungevaag with a whole lot of sexy sexy saxophone. This one is a cool summer track that is sure to get people dancing to the bouncy rhythm and great beats. This one is awesome and not worth missing!
Today's banger comes to us from Arty and Angel Taylor and is Called Up All Night. This one is really big, and the first time I heard it I knew that it would be one I played on repeat. The deep female vocals are really something unique and go extremely well with the piano that comes in during the builds and chorus. The drop is nice but isnt in your face at all, and there is a very seamless transition from the build through the drop. Give it a listen and make your own opinion!
Today's track comes to you from Disfigure and is a very great fast paced track that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Great slow melodic breakdowns into fast paced build ups and drops, this track really has a crazy level of diversity and I fell in love with it the first time I heard it. Give it a listen for yourself and let me know if you like it or not!
On the topic of summery music, the second song I have for you brings that same sound but in a much more chill setting. Embody brings a very summery and chill remix of Milky Chance's track Stolen Dance. The vocals throughout are a very excellent fit and the many tropical instruments used in this song really give it a unique and beach feel. Check it out!
UPDATE
Starting this friday through the next weekend my family will be in Maine. This means no cell reception, no wifi, just life in the woods for a week. As much as I love this time, that also means that I will have to set up the blog posts ahead of time. If you want to keep up to date starting friday you will have to check the blog page which can be found here
The first song for today is a really nice funky remix brought to the table by Dim Sum. The original is Best Friend by Foster the People and Dim Sum just combines the vocals perfectly with a very funky bassline and then keeps that funky spirit throughout the whole track with a sexy synth. Give it a listen for yourself!
Today's track on this most funkiest of Fridays is a funky deep remix from Fabich & Ferdinand Weber. The original is Shoulda by Jamie Woon, and this remix only takes it up a notch. This track has a great deep house baseline, mixed with classic funk elements, and great vocal samples to bring the track together. I am not usually a fan of deep house, but this one really hit me in a great place. Check it out and if you like it then pick up the free download!
Sorry this one is late, I am sick as a dog and its about as fun as a giraffe having neck surgery. So live from my bed, here is a great track for you. Rezonate has come out basically saying that he hates where house music is going, its the same thing over and over again. Ever since then he has gone his own way and started experimenting with different styles and genres. His return to House is glorious, it seems that he has learned a lot from his exploratory journey. Shake It Off has great vocals, great tonality throughout the entire song, and drops that aren't necessarily huge but then again they really don't have to be.
The first is an original from Tom Swoon called Otherside. A really a great build mixed with really great and fitting bocals, this one really surprised me! Give it a listen and decide what you think for yourself. Its catchy and has been stuck in my head all week!
The second track I have for you today has two distinct styles that mix together really well. It starts with really chill and beautiful piano, and then transitions into a really great bouncy track. Louis the Child brings great tonality and a stellar feel to this banger!
So this song was shown to me by one of my roommates, and it honestly took me a few listens to get the hang of it but overall its a really awesome song. Robert DeLong mixes more than a few genres with his track Global Concepts, and mixes them together pretty flawlessly actually. The song is a bit quirky but has great instrumentation, cool vocals, and the drop is "or did I make you fucking dance". Give it at least one listen and let me know what you think!
Speaking of things my Roommate loves, the second track up for today is another remix of Jealous by Chromeo. This one takes it to electro house and still keeps that really chill vibe that Chromeo loves to flavor their songs with. WOrth a listen for sure, and definitely worth picking up the free download offered through Facebook!
Funky Monday here with a double dose!
First up is a very different track from Manic Focus. Still Funky but it has elements of blues and funk as well as a dash of electro soul in it. It really is an incredibly unique track and I think you will like it as much as I do. If you like it, go pick up the free download!
Second up is a really unique funk and chill track remix from Glastrophobie. The original is by Anna Graceman and called Words, and it is really beautiful. Incredible vocals mixed over a really great chill house beat. Mix in some flawless piano and this song will be stuck in your read for weeks to come! Pick up the free download if you like it!
Happy 4th of July! Two funk-tabulous songs for you today. The first is a bounce song with a very unique feel to it. If there was such thing as Western Bounce Funk, this song would fit perfectly into that category. The Zane Zero Bootleg of Milky Chance's track Stolen Dance has a very good vibe to it and sounds really cool, very different from most other bounce tracks that I have heard. Give it a listen for yourself!
Second up is the song that I am very excited to share with all of you! This funk song comes from PHNTM and is really one you shouldn't miss. Great use of instruments, great fast moving pace, and an overall great vocals to match. Give it a listen and you won't be disappointed I promise!
First up is a song that I have been going back and forth about which day it fits, if any. This one is great, but has so many different pieces that I couldn't tell if it was a banger or not. Overall, its just an incredible song. Fox Stevenson delivers with a really unique song that starts out really chill and then drops into a very fast paced electro song with very well chosen matching vocals. All This Time is a really great song, plus seeing Attack on Titan art for this song the first time I heard it had me sold!
I am sure many of you have heard the song Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri. Well I came across something a while ago and still don't really know to feel about it. I have listened to it so many times, and still can't tell if I like it or not, so I present it to you, my loyal listeners for your opinion. Dash Berlin and Christina Novelli recently did a cover of this beautiful track from Perri. Let me know what you think, Seriously!
Fox Stevenson - All This Time
Dash Berlin feat. Christina Novelli - Jar of Hearts
Two awesome tracks for you today. The first track is the first single from Swedish producer Didrick, and wow does it show a whole lot of potential. Great vocals mixed flawlessly in with great tonality and melody. Not to mention the key change, that was unexpected and awesome. I loved this song from the first time I heard it and I hope you all love it too!
Second up is a remix of one of my favorite songs right now, Sleepless by Cazzette. Oliver Nelson got his hands on the original and made a few tweaks to give the song a really cool and deep house vibe. Not as good as the original in my opinion, but still an extremely solid remix and worth checking out!
This remix has been sitting in my library for at least a week, just waiting for the right time to come out and blow everyones mind. This is one of my favorite remixes that I have found this year, and I honestly like it more than the Tut Tut Child remix posted earlier this year. I have never heard the original from Moby, but Sound Remedy takes Almost Home and makes one of the best remixes I have ever heard. Give it a listen and hear for yourself!
