0441 - Ain't No Time for Foolin

So I am still looking out for the ultra sets and will get them to you as soon as I find them.  During swing week I actually amassed quite the playlist of songs to play and I am very excited to share them with you!

JackLNDN always releases such cool and unique tracks, and Fooled Around is no different.  This track is very relaxing and mellow, but has a very driving and groove to it.  I can see this one being best when played with the windows down in the summer just cruising.

Never heard of ATTLAS? Me neither, but its hard to forget a song like this.  Chill, full of funk vibes, and extremely groovy, Kayla is one of my favorite tracks I've found in some time.  It's relaxing enough to listen to with eyes closed and can teleport you, but also just funky enough to maintain that groovy feel.  Give these a listen and I will see you back here tomorrow!

0440 - Post-Ultra

I hope some of you got to watch some Ultra sets over the weekend because they were phenomenal, however they came with plenty of controversy that I would like to address here for a little while.  I am not going to speak anything bad about the music they produce, because even though Krewella, Steve Aoki, and David Guetta may have "performed", they still make good music.  That action pisses me off though, the fact that DJs will prerecord sets, not even turn on controllers, or even forget to plug their equipment in.  Music is meant to be enjoyed and people are paying to hear it done live, otherwise what is the difference from sitting at my desk with headphones on?  I love to see people like Kygo (even though he only got 10 minutes of stream time) who play their stuff live on keyboards and drum kits.  Oh well, guess there will always be those who slip by.

Today's track is more of a list, I recently found it while browsing Imgur.  This is a master list of all the best mashups, and holy shit does it have a lot.  It would take me hours to rave about all of these, so instead I'll just touch on some of my favorites and let you listen to the whole list.

Find the list here: Master Mashup List

My personal favorite is a mashup of Earth, Wind, and Fire and Daft Punk called September Love.  Groovy while keeping both songs intact, this mashup is gold and I wish there were more like it!

0439 - Swing Finale

Swing week comes to a sad but necessary end, and I hope you have all enjoyed all the amazing music!  Swing really really makes me want to learn how to dance so I don't look like a fool listening to this kind of music at shows.  Oh well, another time, another place.  Two final songs to let you swing into the weekend!  First up is a track called Summer Time from Elle and the Pocket Belles, a song that so many people have covered, but this one is amazing.  Starting slow and beautiful, Mista Trick moves it into a great section with drums, horns, and other instrumentation in order to beautifully compliment the vocals.  Give it a listen!

Second up on this swing finale is a track from 11 Acorn Lane, who I have fallen in love with recently.  Everything they have done just has such great flow and progression and its such great chill out swing.  It doesn't smother you, instead allows you to float off into a plane of relaxation.  Let's Face It I'm Cute, is really a great track because its so fluid and I hope you like it as much as I did!  See you in a year for another Electro Swing Week!  Have a great weekend!

0438 - Stop, Swing Time

Slide Time is next week.  Two more Electro Swing tracks for you today!  The first comes from Frizzo called Betty Swing.  Featuring horns throughout most of the song, this one is one of the most consistent Swing tracks I've heard in a while.  Keeping it high energy from the start, Betty Swing has great flow and tonality making it something I may or may not have danced to in my car this morning.  (I got all the strange looks, especially from the guy blasting rap next to me.  CAN YOU HANDLE THESE JAZZ HANDS MOTHERFUCKER?)

Second on today's playlist is Swinging Skillz by Vincent Lee.  This one has amazing movement, moving fluidly from one section to another.  High energy, amazing piano featured throughout the entire song, and just makes me want to break into dancing like a fool (since I have absolutely no dance skills this always seems like a good idea).

0437 - Free Swing, $10 Monkey Bars

First up is a Electro Swing track that features both glitch and rap, a really surprising combination.  Rap and swing never mixed in my eyes, but now that I have heard it, I want to hear so much more of it because the flows mix amazingly.  This one really has a great vibe and the combination of the vocal sample, the glitch, and the rap make a really sweet track.

Second up is a track from Jenova Collective and ClayFace and since today is usually reserved for bangers, this is the closest I could find.  This is a heavy Electro Swing song, that gets a bit more intense than the other ones.  It still has the classic vocal samples, horns, and get bounce.  It also mixes in a little rap and a big bass that leads to a really nice drop.  Give it a listen!

0436 - Yes Diggity

Here on day 2 of Electro Swing Week, I have a really cool remix for you.  Remember that song No Diggity?  Ever thought it needed an Swing Rework?  Trust me, this is something I didn't know I needed until I heard it.  This track from Minimatic called No Swiggity keeps the nostalgia of the original track but gives it a really smooth and nice swing feel.  Give it a listen and I promise you will like it!

0435 - Electro Swing Week Kicks Off

Welcome to the kick off of Electro Swing Week!  I love doing this week every year because this genre is one of the most unique and exciting.  Let's kick off the week with a heavy hitter in the genre, Jamie Berry.  This track displays everything I love about Electro Swing, a phenomenal mix of old sounding vocal samples with a great swing feel, and then a little bit of electronic thrown in to give it a really nice danceable vibe.  Enjoy this track and I will be back with some awesome new Electro Swing for all of you throughout the week!

0434 - No, Its Not Good, Its Amazing

So prepare for all the swing next week as it will be Electro Swing week!  Great swing all week!  Thankfully one of my favorite youtube channels does electro swing all month for March so I have a lot to share!  But you are here for music not news, so lets get into today's track.  Today we have wonderfully chill funk song from Rose (the O has a slash in it FYI) called No Good.  It has a great piano line and the bass line gives it a really phenomenal groove.  Give it a listen, have a wonderful weekend and I will see you back here on Monday!

0433 - Music Inspires, No Matter What

Sorry guys, lots of meetings back to back today so I'm writing this very rushed between working through lunch and going into my next meeting.  Short and sweet today.  OYNG! released a new track called No Matter What that I stumbled on through one of my many youtube channels I follow for daily music.  Its tonal with a lot of different instrumentation, kinda reminds me of Ronald Jenkees if he went more house.  Great tonality, a nice drop, and very happy house vibes.  Give this one a listen and I will see you for the week's finale tomorrow in prep for Electro-Swing Week!

0432 - Keep the Busters Low

Banger Wednesday is here agian, and its time for one of the first influences of my own musical tastes to step up to the plate.  Tiesto is back with another track, collaborating with both KSHMR and Vassy to bring a really great piece to the table.  Secrets is a great track that keeps the tonality and catchiness that made Tiesto big with the signature style of KSHMR.  A big track that clubs will love as well as just dancing by yourself alone or interrupting the office party.

Also, I was going to save this for Mashup Monday but next week will be Electro-Swing Week so this needs to be shared.  What does the Ghostbusters theme need to make it better?  Did you say Lil Jon?  If so you are damn correct.  This is the most unlikely mashup I have heard in years but wow does it flow and work so much better than I ever imagined.

Give both these tracks a listen and let me know what you think!

0431 - In and Out of Chords

First up today is a remix of what I hope the Future House genre can turn into.  Channeling both Deadmau5 and Dillon Francis, Jauz releases a killer remix that has flow and I really enjoyed.  Its not meant for clubs or any other kind of dance environment but holy shit is it a great track to just relax and chill to.  Give it a listen!

Also up today is a chilled out remix of Armin Van Buuren's track In and Out of Love.  Lost Frequencies is one of my favorites, always delivering killer remixes.  The remix has amazing tonality and gives a really mellow feel to this trance song.  Keeping it minimal with piano and a driving but not overwhelming bassline, the vocals carry this one in my opinion because holy shit the range.  Give it a listen and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

0430 - Why Would You Wanna Be Like Kayne?

Mashup Monday is here again with a mashup from Trademark.  This one combines tracks from The Chainsmokers, Cash Cash, and Clean Bandit.  Even though I am not a fan of each of the songs individually, the mashup is very solid.  The combination is very fluid, using the vocals from Rather Be and Kayne and the music from Cash Cash's remix of Birthday by Katy Perry.  Its dancy enough to be played in clubs but not too intense to listen with a nice pair of headphones.  Also, sorry mashups have been gone for so long.  It's honestly the hardest genre to find quality music for.

0429 - No Party Like A Funk Party

Griz the king of funk is back again with a preview of his next album set to release March 31st.  His track funk party will be a free download and from what I have read the whole album may be as well.  Really looking forward to that and you should really too, because the songs I have heard off this album so far put great expectations on the whole album.  Funk party is smooth, groovy, funky, and just fucking phenomenal.  Give it a listen and have a great weekend!

0428 - You're A Survivor

Today's track comes from PrototypeRaptor and is called Survivors.  I was having a rough day today and it brought me back into a really good mood.  Survivors has a incredible flow, some Starcadian sounding Synths, and just an overall great composition.  Its progressive but also lingers in the parts it knows are important for the listener.  A phenominal track that I hope you will like as much as i did!

0427 - Another Song Named After A Natural Disaster

Banger Wednesday hits hard today with a huge track from Vaqu called Hurricane.  With huge drops and very nice rebuilds, this one caught me by surprise.  I expected it to be just another piece of big room trash, but it actually surprised me and I enjoyed it.  It took me a few listens to feel this way about it but now that I've given it time to sit and marinate, I like it a lot.  Give it a listen and I hope you will too!

0426 - Shut Up and Drive

Today's track is one that is very chill but also has a nice heavy side to it.  JPB and Mendum (two artists I knew absolutely nothing about before this track) come together to deliver a really mellow track that hits hard at high points to bring up the intensity another notch.
Also up today is a Synthwave track from Paul Hadame called Flash Car.  This one is really groovy and uses the synths really nicely in order to bring a very smooth feel.  They don't feel overpowering like some other artists tend to do with synths, instead they flow into the song and give it a feel of fluidity.  Give both of these tracks a listen and let me know what you think!

0425 - Killer Collab

Today's track comes from two of my favorite Monstercat artists, Tristam and Braken.  Both have put out incredible work solo, but now they come together to make a truly memorable piece.  Far Away has a lot of energy both chill and high, and though it may not have catchy chords, it really gets in your head.  Seeming very happy, this piece really got me excited and is for sure in my top 25 playlist.

0424 - Swing into the Weekend!

Electro swing is one of my favorite genres!  Its just so dancey and fun, it gives a whole new swing to swing music.  This one is from 11 Acorn Lane and it really made me happy, it has a great mix of classic swing and electro influences without one overpowering the other.  A phenomenal song to get you in the right mood for the weekend!

0423 - First Things First, Be the Realest

Just one more day til friday!  HOLD ON!  Also, electro swing week is coming this month.  Not sure when, but it will be a thing I promise you!  Today's track is a remix from Wax Matif and Gladiator, one that is future house and has a great flow.  Its got a great chill sound, but could also be easily used as a club track to bring the intensity down a little bit.  Hard hitting percussion and a driving heavy bassline give this one a very dancy vibe, one that I will be sure to play!

0422 - One Time Friendzone Exception

The first time I heard Ghosts from Mako I was hooked, the song has effectively been stuck in my head for longer than I'd like to admit.  When I saw a new remix of it, I was extremely excited and the song lived up to my expectations.  The song keeps the original power that comes from the vocals and Friendzone throws in nice builds and a really nice drop to give the song a club vibe.

0421 - Can you feel the dance?

Monstercat's new category Indie Dance has really been making me happy over the past few weeks.  Sorry this one is kinda rushed as I am in between meetings all day.  Both 7 Minutes Dead and WRLD & Richard Caddock released stellar Indie Dance songs in the past few days.  While both have a similar sound, the track from 7 Minutes Dead seems much more chill to me but the track from WRLD and Caddock seems much more dancey and party worthy.  Give them both a listen and let me know what you think of them!

0420 - Back to the Grind

First of all, that song Gold Dust by Galantis that started beauty in music week of right has been stuck in my head non stop for a week and I have no complaints.  Galantis did a 1 hour mix for the song and it is pretty killer, for sure worth a listen.  A solid hour of Galantis' favorite tracks that are mixed together incredibly well!

Monday Funkday is back with a really smooth Glitch Hop track from Auvic called Heal Me.  This one is smooth and features a lot of tonality from a beautifully played piano, mixed with a perfect amount of glitch and bass.  It's not catchy, but you can tell it wasn't made to be.  It was made to be tonal but unpredictable, and it executes perfectly!
