0463 - Quite literally one of the best nights of my life

Last night was easily one of the best nights of my life.  Not only did I get to go see Madeon and The M Machine but I also won a meet and greet with Madeon and then got to chill with them after the show thanks to some well connected friends.  It was seriously the best night of my life and I am still a little in disbelief that it actually happened.  Madeon live mixed everything on beatpads tilted so the entire audience could see what he was doing, and the M Machine had some of the best transitions I have heard in a live set.  Also I have to mention the beautiful visuals to accompany the audio, just really made Madeon's music pop that much more.  I'm also completely exhausted, my legs are killing me, and my back hurts like a motherfucker.  Pictures will come on Facebook soon I promise!  In honor of this legendary night, I think some Madeon and some M Machine is very fitting.

Lets start with the most powerful song from that show, Madeon left and then came back and played Home.  Sang it himself, played the entire thing live and just created such an amazing atmosphere.  If you haven't heard this one yet, you are missing out and need to push this play button right now.  For The M Machine lets go with one of my favorites, Superflat.  This track has just about everything that I love in a track.  Vocals, a bit glitchy, great tonality, and unique.  Give both these tracks a listen and if you ever get to see Madeon live YOU NEED TO GO.

0462 - Don't Try This at Home

Banger Wednesday is back and I have two tracks for you today.  The first is a festival ready and killer bounce track from Matt Watkins called Riot (admittedly a little in bad taste with the current events).  Its got a great bouncy chorus with a great anthem like build to get the crowd pumped up.  Tonally its not the best but it would for sure get most people moving!
Second up is a sweet drumstep from Pegboard Nerds, who I still don't know how I feel about.  Its an overally good and solid song, with great builds and a really nice vocal drop.  I just can't get over that show I saw them at and how just abysmal they were live.  Try not to think about that though, because this song does have a really epic set of horns.  I hope you enjoy it!

0461 - The Aura's Can Speak

Remixes have a really powerful way of transforming a song that you may not have liked into one that has a really powerful effect, and thats exactly what Gryffin did to Tove Lo's track Talking Body.  I hated the original, just really didn't like it.  This remix however, seems to be a much better blend of the vocals and new audio to give it that nice summery bounce.  A really solid remix of a less than excellent original.
On the flip side, an amazing original doesn't have to be touched.  People can try to recreate what it made with remixes but nothing will beat the original track.  That is the case for me and Soulero's track Aura.  I've heard 2 remixes and just hated them, the original is too good to try to recreate.  Its got great tonality, progression, and overall feel is just top notch.

0460 - Don't Be Too Far Away

Hope you all had a killer weekend!  I got to go see Matoma and Audien and Matoma outplayed the shit outta him.  My first live tropical house set live and holy smokes it was the best thing I've ever heard.  So many shows in the next few weeks including Madeon and Grandtheft.  Onto the music!

I love hearing debut tracks from artists, its just so cool to hear new artists come on the scene and give everything in their first released song.  Palastic comes onto the scene with their original track called Far Away.  It is a really beautiful melodic track and is accompanied by vocals from Josh Roa.  The perfect amount of bass as to not take away from the melody but enough to keep it feeling fresh.  Overall a great track and it for sure puts Palastic on my radar!
Second up is a remix from Absence, which has a very strange feel.  It sounds like a strange mix between tropical house and electro, but in a really surprisingly good way.  Overall the remix of

MØ's Track Say You'll Be There really made me very happy.  Give it a listen!

0459 - ZEPHYR ZEPHYR ZEPHYR

Funky Friday put on hold in lew of this ridiculous day that came out of nowhere. THANKS BEN.
However I rise to your challenge, and found 2 more songs.  The first one is a trap song, yeah thats right, TRAP.  Its actually not bad, from Headphone Activist called Zephyr.  Chilled out and with great tonality.  Second one is from Jakko & Marck also called Zephyr.  A pretty good although fairly generic house track, good groove though with catchy build and drop.  Overall two not too bad songs through a ridiculous challenge that may have not even been a challenge.

0458 - Bizzare Invades of Your Favorite Genre

First up today is a really unique track from Robokid called Helix.  The track took me a while to peg down because it has so many elements of so many other genres.  I'm pretty sure its DnB but it also sounds like Prog House, Electro, and a lot of other genres.  Its very happy and upbeat with a nice big bass that keeps an amazing flow throughout the entire track.  A very good an happy track that helped me get through a busy morning!
Special shout to my buddy Hunter for finding this track, it is one that I have heard but never known what it was.  The Matoma Remix of The Notorious BIG and Ja Rule's track Old Thing Back.  This song is the perfect mix of what electronic music and rap combinations could be, something amazing.  Great Tropical House vibes mixed some amazing rap, I hope to see more like this because I love the cross genre work between these two.

0457 - Acoustic Bliss

A little while ago Disco Fries and Niko the Kid came out with the track The Light, which was huge.  A fantastic track which you can find Here if you haven't heard it yet.  I stumbled across an acoustic version and it may just be my love for tonality and piano but holy shit it is beautiful.  A great mix of chilled out piano and what sounds like guitar compliments the vocals near perfectly and I would almost argue that this is better than the original.  Give it a listen and let me know how you think it stacks up to the original.

0456 - Learning To Count Again

Two very different tracks for you today.  The first is a heavy tracks from Ardi Diri and Chagi & Tetro called Blowout.  This one took me a few listens to appreciate but overall I really enjoyed the track.  Its pretty heavy but has a nice combination of big bass and tonality.  It doesn't leave much to the imagination, but put me in such a good mood for some reason.  Overall, a really solid heavy electro track.  Second up is a track that really surprised me, an original from Candyland, who hasn't been featured on here in over a year.  This track is chill but packs a big punch.  With chill builds and a drop that may seem simplistic and boring, but really took me by surprise.  The progression of the track mixing in little cuts of the vocals really brings out the track.  It has a nice bouncy feel to it, while keeping the Future House vibe.

0455 - WIth a dash of Ska, Everything is Ok

In the spirit of the ghost of Mashup Monday, I figured I would bring you something ridiculous.  Marilyn Manson and Ska have never been in the same room together, let alone in one song.  Well Bob Kooparos thought it would work and he may have been onto something.  This is one of the strangest things I have ever heard but the screaming and lyrical rhythm actually line up pretty well.

Also up today is an actually good mashup, from Exige.  Mixing Pompeii, Our Story, and Circles really creates an awesome work.  I had never heard Our Story but it mixes really well with the rhythms of Pompeii and Circles.  A really solid mashup and it gives me hope that good mashups are out there and they aren't all bad.

0454 - Back in time, because AMERICA

Two tracks to help you get through your rough Friday.  First up is a driving funk song from TheFatRat.  Called Time Lapse, this song is greatly tonal and full of crazy sound bites (one of which I'm 90% sure is Yoshi).  Smooth, with a great groove, this song is sure to help you get through your last few hours, or start the weekend off right!  Second up, is a remix of an original track that I loved.  XYLO's track America gave me goosebumps the first time I heard it.  I'll share that video below too, because it really is beautiful.  The remix comes from Young Bombs and works to prove that less is more, using a very minimalistic remix.  Still keeping the flow and working the vocals into the bouncier track.

0453 - Statistics and Victory!

Ladies and Gentlemen.  We have done something great together.  After about a year and a half, 450+ posts, we have hit 10,000 page views!  This has been one of the best experiences of my entire life, and I enjoy doing this blog every single day.  I couldn't have done it without all of you, your response, participation, and love has only increased my love for music.  For this, I need to thank you.  Thats why I have already begun work on a tropical house mix of some of my favorite tracks, which will hopefully be ready for you all to listen and download for free very soon.
But today, We have music!
Savoy and Sound Remedy have both been names I love to see new tracks from, let alone one together.  Also, Future Bass is one of my new favorite subgenres.  So all of these things combined, make for a really exciting Me when I saw them all combined in one package.  Leaving You is an amazing track, filled with amazing tonality and nice bass, phenominal drop outs, and even better builds with the vocals.  Give it a listen and keep an eye out for the mix coming soon!

0452 - O O Let's Get Wild

On this beautiful banger Wednesday we have two really big tracks.  First up is one of my new Kings of Bangers, Henry Fong.  His remixes are huge, with so much energy and his remix of Wild really exemplifies that.  It is catchy with a really nice heavy vocal sample and a big drop that actually seems to have tonality.  Overall a really great track and I can for sure seeing this played at festivals, clubs, or even house parties.  Second up is A A AO from Bali Bandits, my favorite part about this one is both the foreign influence in the melody and the corresponding of the vocal sounds to the tonality which is very well done.  Its a little bit sillier than most of the ersious songs, but it has great groove and vibe.

0451 - Tease It

Today we sit on the cusp of a milestone.  One that I will tell you when we reach it, and hopefully be able to thank you all with something.  Today's track comes from MaRLo and Christina Novelli called Hold It Together, the intro is pretty average but the middle and end are what grabbed me.  First of all, I love her voice, one of my favorites currently (Concrete Angel was one of my favorite tracks for a long time).  This one has a very classic sound, souding what electronic music sounded like years ago.  A great track that grabbed me from the second the middle section started!

0450 - Dual of the Madness

A very heavy track to get you started on your week.  I know I have said my fair share about Pegboard Nerds and how much their live performance upset me, but I am starting to appreciate the music more.  They recently had a track, Bring the Madness that did extremely well and I will share it as well because I couldn't tell which I liked more, the original or the Noisestorm Remix.  The original is done more in a drumstep style while the remix is considered breakbeat, at least in my mind.  The original hits really hard and heavy, while the remix is a bit more tonal.  I do love the combination of rap and electronic that have been surfacing lately, so listen to both and let me know which one you like more!  You can also get the original and all 3 remixes for free here (Free Download).

0449 - Sunday's Bonus Post

Today I have two songs from two opposite ends of the electronic world.  First up is Adroma with Kaya, a funky driving track.  This one uses some nice vocals along with a really nice driving funk rhythm.  Just a really enjoyable feel good track.  Also up today is another track from PARADIGMmm called Warrior which is heavy but amazing.  The vocal samples are questionable but it has a huge bass that really gives the track an in your face feel.  Give both of these a listen and see which one strikes your fancy!

0448 - Saturday Bonus Post

On this saturday's post, I have a really beautiful track for you.  I usually don't like dubstep, but I do really enjoy melodic dubstep because that literally solves my big problem with the genre, Melody.  This track from Skrux perfectly combines the heavy bass of dubstep with some really good vocals, great tonality, and a really chilled out vibe.  Give it a listen and have a great weekend!

0447 - Drum and Face

Today we focus on Drum and Bass, the genre that got me into electronic music.  Pendulum was my first, and I really hope there is never a last.  I recently found two songs that got me really excited about the genre again.  The first is Virtual Reality by T.R.P.Y. & Far Lands.  This one I would qualify as happy Drum and Bass because the energy is so high through the whole song it uses really only high pleasing tones.  Has a great bass, adding the perfect amount to the track without smothering it.  Second up on this Drum filled Friday is a track from A Himitsu called Smile.  The beginning of this track threw me, as it comes off very cute and seemed to be going nowhere.  When the drums came in though I got excited, great synth work and chill pitching make this one a really relaxing Drum and Bass song.  Adding in some great piano as well, this one is for sure worth your time!

0446 - New Duo's Duo

So until I heard these two tracks, I had never heard of Win & Woo but now they are on my radar hardcore.  The first is a remix of Save the Night, a classic track that they give their own unique twist.  With a very chill vibe and a tropical feel, this one had me hooked in the first few seconds.  Original touch, amazing progression, great vocal edits, and sweet tonality make this one of my favorite chill songs right now, like top 3 of all time.  Also, they recently released a remix of Phoebe Ryan's track Mine.  This remix has a bit more of a house feel to it, but has the same type of style as Save Tonight.  Keeping tropical house as their influence, this one has great tropical vibes mixed in with really nice vocals.  The whole track is just extremely relaxing and I hope you enjoy these tracks as much as I did!

0445 - Your DJ, Back Again

So after a great vacation where sadly my power cord for my laptop blew out, I am back.  Because I couldn't post on Monday and Tuesday, there will be posts this week for Saturday and Sunday.  But lets kick this week off (the posts will be a untamed by the usual week standards due to the off days).  Today I have something for you that I have been looking for ever since the last day of Ultra 2015.  Kygo killed it before they went to the popular Skrillex, and though he was only on stream for 15 minutes I hoped the full set would be released.  You never have to worry about him premixing, because he played most of it live with a keyboard.  One of the most dynamic artists to date, and this full set and his festival debut are really amazing!

0444 - 3 4s, Illuminati Confirmed

Funky Friday returns, and I hope you all aren't too funked out after last week!  Today's selection is a NuDisco track from Loframes called Get Real (Can't Touch Your Love).  It has great use of synths and great groove mixed in with a really catchy hook.  A really great song that me grooving all day at work a few days ago.  The subtle but noticeable bass really worked well, not too intense but enough to bob your head to!  Have a great weekend and I will see you all on Monday!

0443 - I Like It (BUT ITS GOT SATAN IN IT)

So everyone seems to have their own opinion about the new Skrillex and Diplo track featuring Justin Bieber.  Personally, I'm not a fan of the original but absolutely love the Mr. Fijiwiji remix.  It is much more on the mellow side, but Justin's voice actually complements the remix very well.  Mr. Fijiwiji always brings such an amazing energy and power to his remixes, and I fell in love with this one quick.

0442 - Club Ready

Banger Wednesday is back after the week off focused on Swing, and I have been sitting on some really great stuff.  First up is a track from James Egbert, the only person I have ever heard make a "perfect track", a quote from one of my fellow DJs.  His tracks are always amazingly composed and this one is no different, Jettison is beautiful.  Great tonality, amazing progression, and a catchy and memorable hook.  Another great track from one of the most consistent artists today in my opinion.  Speaking of consistency, Dzeko and Torres are pretty high on that list for me as well.  Always putting out quality tracks that I may always not enjoy, but can appreciate.  For You has big drops, beautiful matching vocals, and just an overall festival flare.  I can see this one killing it in mixes and live in sets!
