0484 - Unexpected Funk Attack

Today's funk track caught me by surprise.  When I hear Stephen Walking, Funk is not usually the phrase that comes to mind.  However, after this track that should totally be a thing.  The Difference Between Us and the Aliens is a very well done track that kinda reminds me of that song by the 1975 called Girls in the Funk chord progression, but also very throwback to like the 80s with modern funk mixed in.  No matter how you view it, its an extremely well done and funk filled track!  Give it a listen and have a safe and wonderful weekend!

0483 - I Just Want To Make You Proud

Today's track is a really catchy and well done Future House track remixed by Zeier.  The original is called Make You Proud by Hedegaard, but the remix really gives the song a lot of life.  I've found that sometimes Future House seems a bit underwhelming, but this is the kind that I really enjoy.  Keeping tonality and a original beat breakdown, this track really got into my head and had me humming all day.  Give it a listen and let me know what you think!

0482 - Bangers Here, Bangers There, Bangers Bangers Everywhere!

Wednesday is the best day!  Bangers everywhere!  First up is a new track from Project 46 and Karl Wolf.  It has that infectious chord progression that I have come to love them for ever since I heard their early work.  Also Piano, my boner for that is almost as big as my Tropical House one.  Seriously a very well done track, with vocals that flow well and a drop that I can for sure killing in a set or at a festival.  Not really a club track, but for sure one that will get lots of personal listening!

0481 - Hide The Bass

A little trance for you, since I have recently started changing my opinion about the genre.  This track really surprised me, which may have just been my general opionion about trance in general.  The track is solid though with beautiful tonality, chord progression, very catchy, and seamless vocals that fit the song beautifully.  Also up today is an electro track from Ispolins titled Yeah Bassh.  Its got a great bouncy feeling to it, and really does a wonder with hitting you with the bass.  To be honest, I am not a huge fan of the middle but really enjoyed the beginning and the end of the track.  It just didn't really fit in my opinion.

0480 - Funky Fun

So I don't have much time today, between cook outs, family, and driving back to columbus this post is going to be very quick.  I was listening to a mix while I was packing up some of my room in Cleveland, and realized it was by Nitro Fun, an artist I have taken a liking to over the past year.  The mix was done for Funky Panda as one of their community mixes and it really got me grooving.  I was shocked when it was over because it seemed so short but really smooth!  Give it a listen and groove through your day off!

0479 - Funky Funkalicious Funked Funk

The track on this Funky of Funk days is from Twax called Moving On, it has really incredible flow and came off as more of a beautiful funk track than a lot I have heard this year.  It just seems to be so smooth, flowing seamlessly and using a really well done synth.  Not to mention the video has some pretty sick dance moves!  Give it a listen, and have a wonderful long weekend!  See you back here on Monday!

0478 - Throwback

Remember Destiny's Child?  They were kinda the shit.  The song Say My Name was huge and I was very surprised to see a remix of it pop up on one of my favorite Youtube channels, TakeSomeCrime.  The song surprised me, and I really enjoyed it.  The lower pitched male voice still works really well and overall it just has a really nice relaxed feel to it.  Its a bit untraditional in the way it uses the original but still presents it really beautifully!
Funky friday couldn't wait and made its way into my dreams last night, so it starts today!  Today's second song is from Besnine called How to Love.  Its got a hella good bass line mixed with a lot of other instruments and a really killer chorus.  Give it a listen and see you tomorrow for the Funk's continuation!

0477 - Bounce and Banger

First up on this beloved Banger Wednesday is a track called Gimmie That from Bombs away and Kate Foxx.  I really enjoyed this one because it didn't try to amaze everyone by doing insane things with the bounce genre, it just went more the simplistic route.  It had my bouncing in my car and dancing like a fool (i love seeing people stare at car dancing because they get so confused).  It just has great flow with EEEEH vocal samples but they work with the bounce very well.
Second up is banger that the first time I heard it, I imgained I was at a festival and looked around to see people just going crazy.  Syn Cole remixes Take That's track These Days and turns it into a energy fueled track that has the pitched vocals that festival tracks so thrive on these days.  It's got great melodic lows perfect leading up to huge melodic drops.  Give it a listen and let me know which one you like best!

0476 - Chilling Way to Destress

Sorry this one is so late guys, I totally forgot today would be nonstop and I wouldn't have any free time until out of work just now.  It is fitting to have two beautiful tracks today to help everyone relax.  Today's first song comes from Xan and features Elyza.  From the first I heard it, I knew I would fall in love with it, it is just so relaxing and chill.  The background for sure helps, seeming like you are flying (for sure maximize this one's video while you listen to it).  The second song I have for you today is the Lost Frequencies radio edi of Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike vs. Ummet Ozcan called The Hum.  Featuring no vocals but just samples of someone humming really seems to give the song a lot of emotion.  This one is more intense but still very relaxing and chill, featuring a driving bass and really catchy chord progression.  Enjoy both tracks and I promise tomorrow's post will be on time!

0475 - I DO

First thing first, I know that I am not huge on trance, but I had the opportunity to see Above & Beyond last night and they were phenomenal!

Let the first audio from this blog this week leave your ears feeling beautiful.  First up is a track that really mellowed me out as I got to work this morning.  I do from Felix Jaehn features some really chilled out bounce mixed with some stellar vocals that just flow into your brain like heaven.  I hope this one hits you as well as it hit me!
Second up is a really slick beatpad mashup from Shawn Wasabi.  Really fast paced movement, great lighting on the beatpad, mixed with a chaotic mix of too many songs to count.  Give it listen!

0474 - Funk Collab

Funk music is my second favorite genre right now and I seriously can't get enough of it.  So I love when artists I already love come together and collaborate, and thats why I was so excited to see Nitro Fun and Desso come together on a track.  Its got a great Glitch Hop feel in the remix from Glacier, with great tonality and wonderful chord progression.  This song is a little eclectic but phenomenal overall!  Have a great weekend and stay funky!

0473 - Late but Great!

Late today sorry, had to drive students everywhere for this signing day thing with the city of Columbus.

First track up today is called Bunnydance from Oliver Heldens, a really unique and contagious future house track.  It has amazing flow and is really really catchy, not to mention an amazing name.  Constantly moving, taking many directions, and grooving til the sun comes up.  I loved this one the first time I heard it and I think you will really like it too!

Second up today is a Funk Anthem remix from Big Gigantic.  This one uses saxophone to seduce your ears and get them in the mood.  Mixing funk, an unexpected moomba drop, and surprising repetitive vocals, this one really caught my attention.  If you like it pick up the free download!

0472 - No Sorrow, Only Joy

Another Banger in the unusual style (yes I know my boner for tropical house is huge, and I am trying to limit how much gets posted).  When Divine Sorrow was first released, it came off as generic and kinda empty.  The remixes have been coming off in such a different light though, such as this one from Klingande.  This is a killer remix, that has so much power and energy.  For sure worth of mixes, festivals, and sets.  Hope you enjoy it!

0471 - That Smooth Sexy Sound

The style that I know Chromeo for so well is blowing up.  The chill tonal and pop sound really has been embraced lately and taken on by a large number of artists.  The newest one that I have fallen in love with comes from Televisor titled Deya.  Its chill and has killer vocals, mixed in with phenomenal flow and a funk groove.  Check it out!

0470 - What the Mashup?

Mashups have been missing from this blog for some time, mostly because the ones I find are either too chaotic and congested or just leaving too much to be desired.  I like the ones that you have to listen to a few times because they just don't make any sense.  That is why I like Isosine, he always makes insane mashups and his new one is exactly that.  Bat Country by Avenged Sevenfold used to be one of my favorite songs in high schools, but I never imagined it with the poppy back that is California Girls by Katy Perry.  Its uncomfortable and strange, but jesus christ is it catchy.  Its bizarre and even after a handful of listens, I still can't determine if I like it or if it is going to drive me insane.  What do you think?

0469 - 4x69 Hahaha (I'm an adult i Promise)

Electroswing always makes me feel good, so lets start the weekend off with some.  Grant Lazlo is someone who I always seem to find a track thats amazing, then totally forget about but after this one that will change.  Going kinda the minimalistic route Alibi Afternoon really caught me by surprise.  Using glitched vocal samples, piano and horns, as well as unexpected melodic drop outs, this track is something a little different that the usual electro swing!

Also a throwback from Jamie Berry and one of my favorite electro swing tracks to date, Delight.  This one just has such a catchy melody and catchy and memorable lyrics.  It got me into electro swing and I realized it has never been posted here.  I know most of you know this one, but if one person hears it for the first time then I will be happy!

0468 - Golden Warrior Ain't got Shit

So easily Gold Dust by Galantis is one of my favorite tracks of the year.  So seeing remixes of it gets me really excited and i was extremely excited to see this one.  It is from Hook N Sling and was just really well done.  Its does a great job of preserving the vocals and the tonality, while throwing in their own unique twist which gives it an amazingly upbeat feel.  Not to mention the drop is contagious and catchy as shit.
Also up today is the Dannic remix of Andrew Rayel's track, Dark Warrior.  A great deep track that got me really in a great mood.  Heavy bass with great tonality, this one really caught me by surprise.  Give it a listen and let me know what you think!

Galantis - Gold Dust (Hook N Sling Remix)

Andrew Rayel - Dark Warrior (Dannic Remix)

0467 - Hump the Day

It is strange, because in my eyes the idea of what a banger is has changed.  Since I have been to so many shows lately and seen so many different styles just make people go crazy and dance.  Live, Streaming, word of mouth just made bangers pretty widespread.  This song, Seve by Tex Cadey, I can see absolutely killing in a more chill set.  Its got great foreign vocals, a very tropical and fast moving melody.

0466 - Put that on the list entitled THINGS I NEED TO KNOW

Zedd has been doing some really great collaborations lately, many of which are bluring the lines between what you hear in a club and what you hear on the radio.  This latest with Selena Gomez wasn't my favorite, but the remix from Elephante really makes it enjoyable.  The thing that got me was the drop, apparently he tweaked it a few times and went through a few different versions and the final one is amazing.

0465 - How Much To Retrieve the Track?

Sick track from F.O.O.L. today, an electro house track named Bounty Hunter.  The beginning is a little strange, but once you hit about the one minute mark it really starts to take off.  Its got great tonality mixed with a really great drive.  Combining glitch with tonality and progression, this is the best track I have heard from F.O.O.L. so far!  Intense at parts beautiful at others, this one really struck a chord with me!  Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

0464 - Weekend Underload

Quick post today, amid the piles of paperwork and me coughing up my lungs every time I breathe I have just enough time before going to the doctor go get you all the music you need!  This track comes from Teminity and PsoGnar and is called Senses Overload.  Its a really slick Drumstep track that has a really intense tonal feel to it.  Its got huge drops with nice bass but keep things melodic at the same time, this is the kind of Drumstep I love.  It does have its big huge heavy moments, but overall it is extremely well done!
