052 - Love this Town
A lot of people assume that just because I was an electronic music dj and run a blog regarding the same music, that this is all I like to listen to. YOU WOULD BE WRONG GOOD SIR. I enjoy alternative rock, punk rock, electronic (of course), and a few dashes of rap. Not the crap that you hear on the radio, but mostly rap that resembles the origins of the genre. Songs and rappers that talk about issues and actual things that are interesting to me, not the crap about women, cars, and money. Macklemore is the perfect popular representation of this ideal, he talks about where he grew up, his childhood, and everything that matters in his life. If you all you have heard is his stuff on the radio, check out his other songs, he really is a very talented artist. The Town is an excellent song, and you should check out the original if you have time, and this remix by Sabzi provides a very nice acoustic sounding electronic back to the lyrics. Sit back, put on some headphones, shut your eyes, and let the song take you away. Also, thanks to my sister Mary for showing me this song.

051 - Listen. Then Judge. It will not disappoint, you have my word.
Mashups can be both exciting and terrifying. Its awesome to hear someone do a great combination of two songs that shouldn't work but do in a fantastic way, but then its horrible to hear someone ruin one of your favorite songs buy sloppily putting it together with something that sounds like a dying animal. I will be honest, upon seeing Isosine's new mashup I was concerned. Disturbed and Of Monsters and Men? Scary to say the least. But trust in Isosine, the same guy who gave us the great combinations of Slipknot/Justin Beiber and Avenged Sevenfold/Modest Mouse. It really shouldnt work, but it does and it will blow you away. Enjoy!

050 - Special Request: Workout Free Friday
Free is Awesome, Everyone knows that. I have had a special request for today's post, so I will fulfill it with pleasure. Electronic music keeps me going, keeps my heart racing, my head bobbing, and want to share it with everyone. So by this logic it makes sense that the kind of music shared here on this blog is great workout music. One of my friends has asked for a list of songs that are great to work out to and can also be found and downloaded for free. I have done my best to come up with a solid list, even tested a few of them out on a run. Hope you enjoy them and let me know if you have recomendations for more lists like this! Also I inserted what type of workout I would use the song for (cardio, weights, etc.) Links are for download and streaming.
(Songs are listed in no particular order/ranking)
1. Zedd - Into the Lair - Though pretty short, this is one of my favorites to run to. Keeps your heartbeat up, feet in motion, just feels natural to power through this one and push up the tempo.
2. Mord Fustang - If You Want - This just feels like a song to lift weights to. Constant tempo that keeps the confidence up and doesn't overwhelm.
3. Grant Lazlo - Jericho - Honestly not sure where I would put this song, all depends on your view on electro swing. Could work anywhere
4. Pegboard Nerds - Disconnected - Perfect for anything and everything. One of my favorite songs right now (very likely to show up in the mix I am working on fyi!)
5. Madeon - The City - I like this song for lifting, its got a great small break in the middle and then picks right back up. Great for your rest and then go straight into the next set!
All of these are just my opinions and all are actually on my list of songs that I work out to. Hope you enjoy your weekend, see you right back here on Monday!

049 - That Noise is Happiness
Tiesto is the man. I know it, you know it, everyone does. Sadly they forget this from time to time as he is the old timer of the genre, constantly being overshadowed by the new youngsters (like Skrillex). He really is the big name and face of the genre as a whole though, like myself, I am sure many people heard him first and Tiesto is the reason they listen to the music they do today. This song has been on my favorites list for far too long, so I figured I would finally release it to you all. Dyro really takes this song, and puts an awesome spin on it, leaving us wanting more.....but nobody has the key....(listen to the song). Enjoy, and get ready for a very special BONUS free Friday tomorrow for all my people head nodding in the gym.

048 - A Change in Momentum
Electronic does not alway have to up front and really in your face, today for banger Wednesday we are going to take it in a different direction. Sometimes it is nice to just find a track that is mellow and you can relax to with your eyes shut in a dark room, because banger can have so many meanings, and I don't see why this can not be one of them. This song is the perfect example of that. I found it while going through a YouTube playlist I made a long time ago with sons from TechiBeats, but found that so many of the songs sounded exactly the same. Then I found this song by Dimitri Vegas/Like Mike/Regi and I was in awe. Its very hard to find songs like this, and the title fits the track all too well. Momentum will bring you down after a tough day at work, class, or just a bad day in general. Turn the volume up, shut your eyes, and kick up your shoes for today's mellow track.

047 - Walk into that Rift
I hope that everyone had a nice day off yesterday (If you didn't I hope you celebrated like you had one off anyway). Let me just say how much I love doing this, without you all, I honestly wouldn't be here. I appreciate every single one of you, for real. Ok, enough lovey dovey, lets get to the music. Today's song is the new one from Bustre, an upcoming BIG BOI in the Monstercat DnB circut. Riftwalk does not disappoint. Right up the drum and bass alley, which to me is continually surprising. Enjoy!

045 - We all Need Boney Love
Today is free friday! An awesome song that is available for you to download for free, right now! I Need Your Love by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding is an incredible song by itself, so when I saw this remix I had nothing but high expectations. I was not disappointed with this hidden jem, and neither will you. Its still very electro, although the track behind the vocals has been altered to resemble an entirely different song. They work so well together, making a new track that blew me out of the water. And horns, they added horns, so yea. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
